Bookshelf Project

One of my upcoming spring projects is to either make or buy a new bookshelf for the kid's room. They have tons and tons of books, some over 10 years! They have so many that the bookshelf they have now is not really holding them. Plus now that Dahlia walks she grabs them since they are at her reach....it's a serious problem.

These are some of my inspiration or ideas I hope to use. Although I don't have that much space so that's where my creativity has to come and play.

Ideally I would like to buy a long bookshelf like one of these. But am worried about how the kids will reach the top shelf.

I love the idea of making it myself! It would be great to be able to do a customized bookshelf on the wall like one of these, so a raingutter bookshelf is an idea am debating with.

I like these a lot because they are small but I feel I would have the same problem I have now and Dahlia would just be grabbing the books all the time

This is one that I might just try to get for Dahlia....I love it :)

I would love to hear your comments or suggestions, maybe you guys have better ideas that you can share? if so comment below or email me, I'll appreciate it :)

  1. Hi Claudia,
I have the same project scheduled, but mine is redoing an entire room to look like a school room. I really like the raingutter bookshelves. My girls grab books all the time. What I decided to do was create a little reading nook for them {maybe with a beanbag} so they can read all of the books they want.
If the bottom picture is the one you want, then go for it! She will enjoy whatever you make for her. Good luck.
Thank you for linking up with us on the blog hop and leaving a comment.

    Sincerely,

  2. Hi Claudia

I really like the bookshelves that take a full wall - loads of space for books and they give the impression of wall art.

    Good luck with your project.

    Have a lovely weekend.

  4. I love the long ones, especially the one that is in the corner. It doesn't look like it will hold a ton, but it sure looks cool!

  8. Thanks for stopping by my blog!

I want to add a reading nook to my daughters room. The space is limited too. I like the spice rack book shelves, they only take up wall space. I think that helps to make the room not look small.
